Summer Reading Challenge is for All!

From June 15-August15, participate in our Summer Reading Program! It's FREE!

The program is set up to encourage reading, learning, and exploring for ALL AGES! This year, we are going digital and we will be using Beanstack, a web and mobile application designed to help you track reading; earn points, badges, & rewards; and enter prize drawings.

We have 4 challenges based on different age groups where everyone is challenged to read 15-30 minutes a day (depending on the age group) and a point will be earned for each day the reading goal is met. For ages 0-12, there will be a "Halfway There" prize and a "Completion" prize. Teens will earn a "Halfway There" prize, and EVERYONE who has earned 50 points will be entered into  our Grand Prize Drawings. For the youth, the Grand Prizes are bowling and pizza parties at Dogger's Bar & Lanes. For the adults, we will have a few different and wonderful local experience prizes. Sign up by going to, downloading the Beanstack Tracker App, or visiting us at the Wautoma Library.

While we won't be able to have performers and programs like we used to this summer, our Children's Librarian, Miss Cathy, has planned weekly activity packets for children to pick up from the library and complete. We are also planning to hold some drop-in activities in Bird Creek Park to provide safe and fun and educational programming for the youth in the community. Dates and themes are still in the works so follow us on Facebook or check our website and the Summer Reading Program tab for updates. Also be on the lookout for Colossal Fossil's virtual program on dinosaurs in July!
