Kelly Meredith of Butternut, WI has been painting for over 35 years and has done 128 murals across Wisconsin.
On Thursday, July 27, 2023, the Wautoma Library Board approved moving forward with Kelly’s design for a new mural on the Library’s Main Street Wall. The design for the mural features books and local wildlife and represents growing in knowledge and appreciation for the natural world around us. Kelly will work on the mural in her studio in Butternut, painting directly onto 4’x8’ PolyMetal panels. Once the painting is completed, the panels will be mounted onto the Library Main Street Wall. After it’s installed, the plan is to extend the stonework used from the library entrance along the south wall below the mural.
The mural cost is $20,000, the installation of the panels will cost about $2,300, and the stonework is an estimated $18,000.
This project is partially funded by the City of Wautoma, the Wautoma Public Library, and our generous donors! On September 14, 2023, we received a grant from the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin for $5,000!
